GIRO file is already generated, but you need to change the value date? We’ve got you covered!

This article will guide you on changing the Value Date, both for the future GIRO and your existing GIRO file.

What is the Value Date?

  • In GIRO, the value date is the date when a payment is processed and the funds are considered to have been settled from the payer's account and credited to the payee's account.

There are 3 methods to change the value date, namely:

A. How to change the existing Value Date in the GIRO File

  1. Go to the side navigation menu > Head to Payroll > Payment Files

  2. Under the GIRO tab > Under Actions header > Click the edit button on the GIRO file

On the page, you will see Value Date that you can edit

  3. Click Submit

  4. Last but not least, also make sure to download the latest version of GIRO file by accessing the corresponding GIRO file > click Download

B. How to change the existing Value Date in existing payroll

  1. Go to your payroll and click Mass Edit on your payroll

  2. You can edit your value date under Payment Date

  3. Once you have submitted the change, you can generate the GIRO file as usual

C. How to change Value Date in the Payment Period

  1. From the side navigation menu, head to Payroll Settings

  2. Under the General Setting section, look for the Payment Period. Click the three dots button > Edit

  3. Once on the page, drag the purple $ line to the desired Value Date

  4. Click Submit. Once done, the next payrolls’ Value Date will be displayed based on the Payment Period’s Value Date

Well done! Mastering the Value Date means you’ve got one more tool to make payroll stress-free and efficient.
