This article will guide you through the process of assigning employees to a Leave Type in Gutsy. Assigning employees ensures that the correct leave schemes and entitlements are applied to them.
Step 1: Navigate to Leave Types
From the side navigation menu, click Leaves and select Leave Types.
Click the ➕ icon here to create a new assignment.
📝 Tip: Use the magnifier icon to quickly search for a specific leave type if you have many listed.
Step 2: Choose Leave Type and Scheme
You will be directed to the Assign Employee page.
Select the Scheme linked to that leave type.
Once both are selected, additional options will appear to assign employees. Click Next to continue.
Step 3: Assign Employees
Customise the following options as needed:
Effective On: The start date for this leave type.
Expiry Date (Optional): Only set this if you want the entitlement to end on a certain date. If not set, entitlements will refresh automatically each year.
Custom Entitlement Date: Adjust the entitlement start date if needed.
Once ready, click Next.
Step 4: Review and Submit
Validate the details you’ve entered.
Once everything looks correct, click Submit.
A confirmation message will appear.
The employee has now been successfully assigned to the leave type.
Step 5: Verify the Assignment
To double-check:
Go to the employee’s profile.
Open the Entitlement view.
You will see the newly assigned leave type listed.
