The Open Shift Details page gives you a full overview of the shift.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through each part of the page so you know exactly what’s available.
Navigating to the Open Shift:
From the side navigation menu, select Shift Schedule. Here, you can view, create, and manage all shifts — including Open Shifts.
To access it, simply click on the Open Shift you’ve created. Once opened, you’ll be able to view the following:
a. Date and time
b. Working hours and break times (including paid/unpaid status)
c. Status of the Open Shift (Unpublished/ Published)
d. Outlet
e. Day Type
f. Position/Sub-position
g. Remarks
h. Headcount required and assigned
i. Employees who have claimed or been assigned
j. Actions you can take from this page (click the three dots icon):
Under Headcount Assigned for a Shift:
i. View Shift Details – View the shift details.
ii. Edit Shift Details – Make changes if needed.
iii. Detach from Open Shift – Converts it into a normal shift.
iv. Unassign – This removes an employee from a scheduled open shift, meaning that shift will no longer appear in their schedule.
Important: If the shift is already linked to their attendance record (e.g. they’ve already clocked in or out), you won’t be able to unassign them.
💡 Scenario: Admin assigned an Open Shift to Employee A for Thursday, 9 AM–6 PM, but later realised that Employee B should be covering instead.
If Employee A hasn’t started the shift or recorded any attendance, you can unassign her and reassign it to Employee B.
However, if Employee A has already clocked her attendance for that particular shift, then the system will not allow you to unassign her.
Nice work! You’ve got a solid understanding of the Open Shift Details Page now.
