With Gutsy’s Mass Job and Salary Change feature, you can easily update multiple employees’ job details and salaries in one go using an Excel template. This article will guide you through the use cases, important notes, and step-by-step instructions to help you apply the changes smoothly.

When should you use Mass Job and Salary Change?

You may use this feature in the following situations:

  • When you need to mass update job and salary information for multiple employees using an Excel file.

  • When you want to overwrite existing job and salary information without creating a new career history record.

  • When certain job or salary fields were previously left blank and you want to populate them for multiple employees at once.

This feature helps save time while ensuring consistent updates across employees.

💡 Scenario

Admin A previously onboarded 10 employees with an incorrect position assigned. The correct position should be Manager instead of Associate.

Instead of updating each employee profile manually, Admin A uses Mass Job and Salary Change to overwrite the incorrect position so that all employee records reflect the correct information instantly.

Important things to note before using this feature

  • Ensure that all required setup fields (such as Department, Position, Employment Type, etc.) are created in advance so they are available in the Excel dropdown.

    • Example: If you want to update an employee’s position to Manager, make sure the Manager position already exists in the system before proceeding.

  • Incorrect or missing setup values may result in upload errors during preview or submission.

What can be updated via the Mass Job and Salary Change Excel template?

You can update the following information in bulk:

Employee Number, Effective Date of Changes, Department, Position, Cost Centre, Employment Type, Probation / Contract / Internship End Date, Pay Type, Currency, Monthly Basic Salary, Hourly Rate (if applicable), Daily Rate (if applicable), Normal OT Hourly Rate, Off-day OT Hourly Rate, Rest Day OT Hourly Rate, Pay Scheme Details, Remark, Timezone, Country of Work, Payment Period
