Facial recognition is a clock-in method where employees scan their face so the system can identify and approve their attendance.
This guide will walk you through how to set up employee facial data and manage existing records directly from the kiosk device.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have already:
Created an Outlet
Set up the Kiosk
Set up the Attendance Permission for employee
If facial recognition is enabled as a clock-in method in your Outlet setup, you can proceed with the steps below.
1. Set Up Employee Facial Data
Open the kiosk device where the kiosk is created.
Tap Facial Setup.
Tap the + icon to add a new face record.
❗ Note: Gutsy is currently upgrading the Facial Recognition system. During this transition period, users who are using Facial Recognition will see two options: Facial Recognition (OLD) and Facial Recognition (NEW).
Existing users may continue using the OLD version temporarily. However, new face registrations can no longer be done under the OLD system. We would recommend gradually re-registering employees under the NEW system, as the OLD version will be phased out by the end of May 2026.
Once the OLD system is discontinued, only employees registered under Facial Recognition (NEW) will be able to use Facial Recognition for attendance.
Select the employee’s name from the dropdown list.
Tap Register (New).
❗ Note: New face registrations can only be done under Facial Recognition (NEW), as the OLD version will be phased out by the end of May 2026.
Face the camera clearly during the authentication process.
Wait for the Verification Successful message.
2. Manage Facial Recognition Records
After setting up facial data, you can view and manage employee records directly in the kiosk.
On your kiosk device, go to Facial Setup.
You will see:
A search bar (magnifier icon) to search by employee name
A status filter to view:
Activated
Deactivated
All
A list of registered employees
Tap the three-dot icon next to an employee’s name for more actions:
Re-register Face ID: Update the employee’s facial data (e.g., if clock-in fails repeatedly).
Deactivate: Temporarily disable the employee’s facial setup (e.g., when they are moved to a different outlet).
Delete: Permanently remove the employee’s facial record from the kiosk. You will need to re-register from scratch if needed again.
💡 Scenario:
If an employee transfers temporarily from Outlet A to Outlet B, you can deactivate their record in Outlet A to avoid confusion. When they return, simply re-register it.
Great work! You’ve not only learned how to set up facial recognition but also how to manage and troubleshoot it, giving you full control to keep attendance running smoothly and securely.
